2011 Recap

Entertainment for the adults will take place from 9 p.m. to 12:30 a.m. Here’s the entertainment lineup:

28 Days

Headlining the event will be Chicago-based band 28 Days. Considered Chicago’s premiere cover band, 28 Days has become a staple at festivals and events throughout the Midwest. The band was recently selected to perform original music that will be featured on the soundtrack for the upcoming Hollywood Motion Picture “Keeper of the Pinstripes.”

 

Bullhonky Deluxe

Bullhonky Deluxe will be performing in the Moose Brew Tent, presented by 94.5 The Moose. Dubbed the “hardest rocking country band in Michigan,” Bullhonky Deluxe delivers both cover and original music with energy and attitude.

 

Mad Chad Taylor

Another staple of the event’s entertainment lineup will be Guinness World Record holder Mad Chad Taylor. Coined the Evel Knievel of Comedy, Chad’s brand of “extreme comedy” and his chainsaw juggling act is sure to captivate and awe the audience. Taylor has appeared on numerous television shows, including the “Tonight Show with Jay Leno” and “The Carson Daily Show.” Chad has also been featured in a number of feature films including “Spider-Man III” and “Crocodile Dundee in Los Angeles.”

 

Street Performers

Additional touring street performers will round out the entertainment and offer a unique big city flair for the Midnight on Main event. The world-famous Chicago Bulls Bucket Boys will perform their high-energy synchronized percussion routine at various times throughout the night. The Bucket Boys are a staple at Chicago Bulls home games, have shared the stage with the likes of OutKast, Christina Aguilera and Beyonce, and have entertained hundreds of thousands of people with their street performances throughout Chicago since 2002.

National touring entertainer Dave the Horn Guy will also perform during the event. Armed with an orange jumpsuit outfitted with 25 chromatically tuned bulb-horns, his one-of-a-kind act has been featured on “America’s Got Talent,” Comedy Central, and events all across the country.

Ice Sculptures

Magical ice creations will be prepared by The Ice Gurus of the renegade Ice Brigade, as seen on FOOD NETWORK. You can get a picture with a 6ft polar bear made of ice or hang out in the Mix 106.3 Ice Lounge (at the courtyard at the H Hotel) and have a drink at the 16ft Ice Bar! The Ball Drop!

The entertainment will culminate with Michigan’s largest New Year’s Eve ball drop, featuring an impressive ball that is 7’8” in diameter and constructed with 2,380 RGB LED lights and 340 individually controlled nodes that have millions of color variations. The ball drop will be capped off with a fantastic fireworks display at the stroke of midnight.
